Dr. Whiting grew up in Neola, the Roosevelt suburb known for its beauty and temperate climate. He joins Ashley Valley Veterinary Clinic, bringing 37 years of experience in a mixed-animal veterinary practice.

After completing his undergraduate studies at Utah State University, he attended Colorado State University to obtain his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with honors as a member of Phi-Zeta.

He began his veterinary career in Hermiston, Oregon and spent the bulk of his career at Basin Veterinary Clinic in Roosevelt where he was a co-owner. With the sale and subsequent closure of the clinic, Dr. Whiting is pleased to join Dr. Mathis at Ashley Valley Veterinary Clinic. He is the father of 5 and grandfather of 16. 

NaKiya grew up in Vernal, after graduating high school she moved to Salt Lake City to attend Broadview University and became certified in Veterinary Technology. She worked as a Vet Assistant throughout her schooling and began her career as a Certified Veterinary Technician with us in September of 2015. Currently she is returning to school to work towards earning a degree as a Veterinarian. In her spare time she enjoys spending time in the outdoors doing activities such as hiking, caving, and going to the lake

John graduated from Colorado State University in 1981, then moved to Vernal to begin his work. He has been providing excellent care to animals in the Vernal area for 36 years. John loves being a Veterinarian and taking care of your beloved pets and livestock. He is a member of: AABP, AAEP, UVMA, AVMA, and AASRP. John was the UVMA's Veterinarian of the year in 2010.
